Nodes Roadmap
This roadmap is a general description of the product direction set up for Nomisma Core Nodes and related products/functionalities. Work is still ongoing, so this section is subject to change.
Phase 1: Community Nodes (mid-2025)
Transaction Recording
Capture and record on-chain transactions on the Chromia-based layer without finalizing or validating them, while maintaining a reliable record.
Token Distribution
Serve as primary recipients of token incentives, distributing a portion of rewards to Community Node operators.
DAO Governance Participation
Enjoy exclusive participation rights in Nomisma’s on-chain DAO voting mechanisms, allowing you to propose or vote on network parameters, future upgrades, and key community decisions.
Phase 2: Synchronizing Nodes (late 2026—early 2027)
Chain Clustering & Synchronization
Transform the Nomisma chain into a "cluster of chains," enabling parallel transaction processing while acting as "synchronizers" to ensure data consistency across the expanded chain clusters.
Partial Consensus Responsibility
Gain an upgraded role in the consensus process by sharing validation tasks with the underlying chain, enhancing network throughput through offloading certain validation steps from the primary chain.
Gradual Consensus Transition
Prepare for full validator duties, as the network relies on their computations and confirmations to maintain chain integrity.
Phase 3: Validating Nodes (late 2027)
Full Consensus Operators
Finalize and approve transactions, effectively "closing" consensus on the Nomisma chain and providing the highest level of security and trust within the ecosystem.
Advanced Verification & Security
Verify blocks produced across all chain clusters, ensuring their accuracy, immutability, and resilience against malicious activity.
Primary Staking Rewards
Offer the most substantial reward opportunities due to their pivotal role in securing the network, distributing a share of all on-chain fees based on the amount of Nomisma Native Token (or other relevant token) staked to these nodes.
